Energy Efficient
Our standard insulation is 21-11-11. Industry standard is 14-11-11. This is just the start. Live Oak offers multiple upgrades to suit your specific needs or wants. You can even get the most energy efficient home available in the housing industry. We offer the availability of ENERGY STAR certified home. (See Energy Star book).
Lumber is an insulator. Our walls and floors have more lumber than the competition. Our floors are 3/4” vs. the competition 19/32”. That’s ¼” thicker floors. Our walls have more board feet of lumber. More lumber than a standard 2×6 wall.
Because we are an Energy Star Certified Manufacturer, the duct work in our homes is R-6 rated vs. the competition’s R-4. This is particularly important in homes with overhead ducts, since this is the hottest area of your home.
Venting is important. You Live Oak multi-wide homes have fully vented 7” eaves all the way around with roof vents front and rear, to insure a steady flow of air thru the roof. Our single-wide homes have a 4” eave. In most cases the competition’s single-wide homes have no eaves.
